John Gittins
After gaining his degree in Fine Art at Falmouth School
of Art in 1978 John pursued his career as an artist, selling
paintings, drawings and sculptures and exhibiting in England
and the Netherlands. In 1983 he obtained a post with a
Sheffield company of ornamental Plasterers as a sculptor
and mould maker.
Working to Architects drawings and also producing many
original works in plaster, his work now decorates some
of the most prestigious buildings in the world. These include
the Café Royal, Grosvenor House Hotel, and the oriental
restaurants in the Dorchester Hotel. Les Ambassadeurs Casino-Park
Lane as well as the fine jewellery rooms of 'the' most
well known store in Knightsbridge.
Other work not readily available for viewing by the public
can be found in the Saudi Arabian Embassy, Mayfair, the
Al Bustan Hotel, Oman and, before it was bombed by allied
forces one of Saddam Hussein's palaces in Baghdad
